The most important skill you can learn to help you succeed
online is writing effective copy for your website,
newsletter, and even your advertisements.
Take a look at any of the top names on the Internet today
and you will see they all have one thing in common...the
ability to write copy that sells!
I constantly tweak and modify the copy on the sales page
of my http://AffiliateMistakes.com website. It is at a
point now where it is converting VERY well, but I don't
think you can ever stop trying to improve your sales
ratio.
In my ebook I have a chapter that tells you when you are
promoting affiliate programs you really should master the
art of PRE-selling your visitors.
This is different from directly trying to sell them a
product, because as soon as they click your affiliate
link they are going to get hit with yet another sales
pitch.
Either way, whether you are selling your own products or
trying to make a decent income promoting affiliate
programs...you will need to write great copy!
Now, by copy I mean the actual words on your website,
in your emails, or in advertisements that you send out.
Your copy literally has to reach out and grab your
visitors and make them stop and read what you have to
say (read: Sell to them.)
If you can't stop them, and then convince them to click
your affiliate link or buy your products, you just flat
aren't going to earn much money!
The problem with all of this is that writing effective
copy is by far the HARDEST thing you can learn how to
do!
Very few people online are really great at it, and not
too many more are even somewhat good.
Your top priority should be to learn as much as you
can on this subject. No matter what else you learn
about making money online...you MUST know how to write
effective copy.
Or, at the very least you need to use the resources
available to create copy for you.

or so. They break each ad down to show you what made them
so successful...or what made the unsuccessful ones fail.
Remember that effective copy is the key to your success
online, and without it you will have great difficulty
making any real money.

2. How to find high-powered partners
=====================================
This weekend I was playing around with the Internet Success
Spider (ISS) software and found 2 more high-traffic sites
that have agreed to help me promote my AffiliateMistakes
ebook.
You don't have to have very many high-powered partners to
help you succeed, but as I'm sure you know, it can sure be
difficult to find even one!
Personally, I'm glad I found out about this software now
rather than later, but I can't help thinking what it would
have done for me a couple of years ago.
Anyway, what I'm rambling on about is the software that I've
mentioned to you in the past by Neil Shearing. Its mainly
promoted as an awesome tool to help companys recruit super
affiliates to promote their products for them.
But what I have found it to be useful for is:
Finding link partners (more traffic, higher search
rankings.)
Finding websites to signup under me in 2-tier programs
(passive, long-term income.)
Spying on my competition (find out who links to them,
where they advertise, etc.)
And last but not least, finding new affiliates to
promote my ebook.
The way it works is you login to the site (it is software
that runs on Neil's server so you don't have to fool with
figuring out how to install it), enter in a site that you
want to analyze, select your options and click Calc
Popularity.
What it then does is figures out who links to that site,
then goes out and finds out how many people link to those
sites and sorts them for you.
So, you can quickly see which sites are linking to a
particular site and know which ones have a lot of links
pointing to them.
Why is this important?
Because YOU can now approach these other sites and see
if you can get them to link to you, or help you sell
your products, or join an affiliate program under you.
Neil even gives you a copy of the "Irresistible Formula"
which shows you exactly how to create an email to send
to these websites.
The sites with the most links to them are going to be
the ones that are more established, get more traffic,
and just plain are worth trying to work with.
What site do you enter?
Your competitors, sites that already link to you and
bring in decent traffic, popular sites that you know
about, etc.
As you play around with it you will quickly come up
with list after list of prospective partner sites that
you can contact.
Obviously you don't want to spam anybody, but rather use
the information provided by Neil to craft up an email
that will get their attention and hopefully get them to
agree to work with you.
