I keep getting email and reading posts on different forums
about webmasters that are seeing drastic drops in their
affiliate income.

Many programs lower their payouts or close their programs
completely.

This can definitely hurt when you are using this money to
supplement your income, or in some cases this may be your only
income.

Some have gone so far as to predict the end of affiliate
programs as we know them.

They are changing, that's for sure, but don't count them out
just yet.

Affiliate marketing is just as strong as its ever been, its
just that more and more companies are trying to make their
programs more profitable.

Those that can't figure out how to do it are closing them
down in favor of more traditional methods of advertising.

You need to focus your efforts promoting the ones that get
it.

Find the programs that offer multiple payouts, such as per-
click, per-lead AND a percentage of sales.

The click and lead amounts may be small to discourage fraud,
but gives you some income even if the visitors you send don't
actually buy anything.

Work harder on pre-selling these visitors to make sure they
go all the way through the buying process.

Look for solid programs that offer lifetime commissions.

My favorite in this category is Ken Evoy's SiteSell products

Whenever he puts out a new product, and your referred customers
purchase it, you get a commission. Even if you sent them to
SiteSell a year ago!

You should also work on programs that offer residual payouts,
such as website hosting. As long as your customer stays with
the hosting company, you will earn money.

Tbhost is a good one because they offer hosting for only $9.95
a month, which makes them easy to sell, and you get paid each
and every month that your customers stay with them.

Another one that is pretty easy to promote is the Trafficology
newsletter at http://www.affiliatematch.com/traffic

All you have to do is send them subscribers and you earn a
commission if anyone you refer submits and idea that is used
in the newsletter.

It is 2-tier as well so you earn commissions on customers of
webmasters referred by you.

You will want to promote this one heavily now because Wayne
says he doesn't know how long he can keep up the $1,000
payouts.

If he can get the subscriber numbers up there he can sell
advertising to cover the payouts and keep the program going
strong.

Obviously there are a limited number of winners a month, but
it only takes one to make for a nice month...

Start sending customers to SiteSell now and you will get a

start figuring out how you can get your permanent tag on as
many visitors as you can.
