New Top 10 affiliate program

I goofed! Last week I mentioned that I might change my subscriber management back to my own server using AutoResponsePlus. I did, but I forgot to set my instant response message so it wouldn't send out to those that are already on my list, only to new subscribers.

Unfortunately, everyone on my list got a copy of it when the job ran Sunday evening.

I'm sorry! Hopefully it wasn't too intrusive, kind of like I welcomed you to my list again.

Anyway, Happy Valentines Day! This also happens to be my Anniversary...uh oh...I better take off to the store to buy my wife a gift. Oops!

Last week I told you about a new software program that I found for managing autoresponder messages. I also casually mentioned that I might move my subscriber list back to my site and use this program to manage it.

Well, I got several emails asking how I jumped from autoresponder software to managing my newsletter subscribers. I guess I could have done a better job explaining that one.

The way it works is that this software maintains subscribe and unsubscribe requests, and you can do one-time mailings to your list.

This is the feature that I'm using to send you this issue. Last Sunday I exported my list from PostMasterGeneral and imported it into this program on my server. (I goofed and sent out the welcome message to everyone, but other than that it was really simple.)

I have it setup to send just one message when subscribers sign up for my newsletter, and from that point on, every Thursday, I will use the one-time mailing feature to send out my newsletter.

I've also setup a couple of autoresponder series for some of my other websites, and I'm testing that to see how well it works.

So far I'm very impressed. There was one feature that I was wanting that wasn't included, but using their discussion board I found a site that posts mods to the software that you can just copy and paste. The feature I wanted as well as one that I hadn't even thought of were listed, so now I'm really happy!

I'll let you know next week how well this mailing went.

Remember, for me if I keep using this for my newsletter I'll save $39 a month. Plus, I had a need for at least 4 autoresponders, which can cost as much as $80 per month.

NextCard bites the dust!
This weekend I got an email from NextCard saying that they are no longer accepting credit card applications, and to remove any links to them. Over the past couple of years this one has made me a nice sum of money. Its a shame to see them close.
